Ye olde swimmin' hole

Where exactly are Arthur and Sheldon doing their swimming this fine February day? In the past they've been out in their favorite swimming hole (http://www.sheldoncomics.com/archive/021014.html, http://www.sheldoncomics.com/archive/020524.html, http://www.sheldoncomics.com/archive/040422.html)

And they've demonstrated and aversion to public pools (http://www.sheldoncomics.com/archive/030702.html)

But it's February for gorsh sakes! How can they be out swimming? Or has Sheldon purchased an indoor swimming pool with his billions at some point? And if that's the case, then why would he ever deign to visit a public pool or cavort in a mucky pond?

Or maybe I'm just thoroughly sick and tired of the double dose of rain we've had this winter up here in Portland, OR and I've become insanely jealous of a cartoon character. Seriously we've had twice the average rainfall EVERY MONTH. I NEED SUNSHINE!!!!

Perhaps they are visiting one of the Sheldonsoft Corp premises in England?

"A high of 15c (59f) was recorded in Kew Gardens, South West London, far above the usual 8c (46f) expected. Saturday's high was even better at 17c (63f).

It was judged to be perfect sandcastle weather at Brighton, despite winter still having a few weeks to run. Several surfers even braved the chilly North Sea at Tynemouth beach, Tyne and Wear. "

I would like to believe that this is a private pool or pond he has had constructed for himself and his friends. The reason you never see under the water line is that there are massive heating coils built intot he sides of the lake to keep it nice and warm all winter long. Or perhaps Sheldon is just a member of the polar bear club and neglected to mention this to anyone.

I've kind of thought of the swimming hole to be on par with Charlie Brown's brick wall, where many deep conversations would take place.
The brick wall, however, was more of a year-round setting (just add snow) than the swimming hole. Of course you could have the swimming hole be frozen and the gang could be skating or something. Of course, now I have the mental image of Sheldon and Arthur standing in ice fishing holes talking.

Not that I live there, but the weather in Southern Cali has been in the mid seventies for the past weekend and is currently about 65f when I just checked in anther tab. Quite possible that it's a normal swimmin' hole that just happens to be in a fairly good climate.

Here in Texas it's been in the 70's also, but storms tonight and tomorrow are supposed to bring us down a few the next couple of days.

I think we're over looking the obvious here: Sheldon's billions have prevented him from thinking like a rational human being.

I mean, he did create a talking duck. Why wouldn't he also swim during the winter months? Who's going to tell him otherwise?

Plus, Arthur is use to swimming in the pond at any time of the year, so you wouldn't have to do much arm twisting to convince him to take a quick dip.

Just my observation...
