Gee, I don't think Arthur gets into Dickinson's "Because I Could Not Stop For Death"... I'd love to hear the reason for Dave's use of the poem in the strip - other than to prove a point about the WGA Strike, perhaps? ;)

Hehe, I enjoyed the Emily Dickinson strips. I've ploughed through endless Dickinson poems when I was preparing for my final exams at university, so yeah, yeah I can relate to Arthur.

Emily Dickinson's work was forever ruined for me by the TV show "Head of the Class." On that show, they suggested that all E.D. poems can be sung to the tune of "Yellow Rose of Texas." I haven't been able to read one without doing so since I heard this.

Why is it so dark in the last panel? Did Dave spill his ink bottle on the last panel and not have time to redraw it? Is it a total eclipse of the sun foreshadowing the next plotline ? Is this the grim shadow of death himself asking Sheldon to knock it off with the Dickinson poetry for a while?

With this second strip, I'm suspicious that our little duckling is not very comfortable with the subject of death... which isn't surprising, of course, since most animals try to avoid it at all costs.
