I'm carrying an A$20 in my wallet right now. I kept it because I had it when my wife and I saw Ayers Rock on our honeymoon. Little did I know it'd be worth millions in U.S. money one day!

Yup, colourful plastic cash.... well in the 80's everyone said plastic was taking over from cash so we just made our cash plastic too! Took a while to get used to the stuff but after the first time a $50 or $100 note goes through the washing machine and comes out still usable you think "Bugger me.... these notes are a bloody good idea after all!"
In the decade or so we've had them over 20 other countries (including the Kiwis) have asked our plastic money mint (Note Printing Australia) to make new plastic notes for them too. Most go for both physical size and colour differences on their new notes like we did. The old plastic notes are shredded and recycled unlike paper notes that are burnt.... so the stupid things are environmentally friendly too.
Who knows.... maybe one day even you Septics may make it into the 21st century and find colours other than green! ;-)
You made me check in my wallet to see what was actually on our $5 note: It's the Queen but she does have this bemused smile on her face like she just farted or something.
Also, plastic notes > paper notes
Ok, now I'm beginning to wonder if there's something to this theory. My grandfather let me sip from his wine glass when I was a kid as well and I hardly drink.
It took a long time before I found a few beers that I was able to stomach and even when I did, I just... don't drink.
