Shortly after getting glasses my doctor suggested contacts as I was not wearing the glasses due to how they felt on my nose. After a similar episode at their office learning to touch my eye, all was well, until Philadelphia. Summer of 2000 we visited Philly on our way to NYC for Fleet Week. As I was walking past Independence Hall the wind picked up and a bit of trash flew into my eye. Without thinking I stuck my finger in my eye to clean out the trash. The bit of trash came out, along with HALF of my CONTACT! It took forever to get the other half out of my eye and the next day (or any day after) I was not able to get on back in.

I gave up and tried to learn to wear glasses. Now most days I don't bother with glasses and just sit really close to my monitor and squint.
