Yelp Ain't Working

Do you remember, a few months back, when I asked Sheldonistas to give feedback on
The Sheldon Store using
this Yelp link?
The idea was that it'd be far better for Sheldonistas to hear from one another about their experiences than it would be to hear it from me. And I still like that idea, I think it's a useful one. But Yelp ain't doing the job.
The Yelp site itself is more designed for local restaurants and stuff, not so much for the online world. Additionally, Yelp's software algorithms have automatically deleted the posts from any kind Sheldonistas who added their review of the store ...but who never posted anything else on their local restaurants. I can understand why Yelp's software would do that...but it doesn't help you or I if Sheldonistas don't want to comment on their local Domino's Pizza, as well as their Sheldon Store review. :)
But since I'd still like to do something like this, let me ask: Does anyone have an third-party review site they'd recommend for use with the Sheldon Store? If we can figure out a good one, we'll move the "O-fficial Sheldon Store Reviews" over there.
Thanks, in advance, for any ideas!

I went to an awesome restaurant called Harry's Pacific Grill in Los Angeles on a business trip a few months ago. The location was new (Rancho Cucamonga), so it had no reviews, and I spent a good amount of time putting in a glowing review on Yelp. They deleted it--because they only include "representative" reviews (there were no other reviews of the restaurant either when I posted or after they deleted it). I bit my tongue when you mentioned Yelp before because I thought maybe it was a one off experience, but this cinches it-- Yelp is crap. I'll never use it again.

I can't think of a review site like you've described, although Bizrate.com might be close. They have ratings for online stores, but it's more a traditional 'shopping for stuff' site. I do think their ratings are used by other shopping sites, though, so it is worth checking out.
If you wanted to try an unorthodox approach, though, you could look at setting up more of a Facebook presence. I'm not a big fan of their whole 'we hate privacy' ethos, but there are a lot of people on there, more are joining, and it probably has a pretty good overlap with the webcomics-reader demographic. I've posted links on there to Sheldon before, but maybe a Sheldon widget/application would drive some more traffic to the Sheldon store.

There's two that I can think of, epinions and BizRate. I don't know if epinions can link to the actual store, but I know that bizrate can. In fact they have a cool survey thing they use at the end of every purchase, and then after the items arrive.
On a side note, massive congrats on the little one! while I can understand and fully support not giving out her name, you WILL have to call her something on line, so think up a really cool alias! MarvelGirl! or WonderBaby, or poopsy! That way whenever you're talking about her, you don't have to keep calling her "the baby" or whatever.

Check out epinions.com I'm pretty sure you can review just about anything there - and they DO have a section for ''online stores and services''.
Oh and the only reason my newborn ever woke/cried every 15 minutes was because the nurses gave me iced tea which passed thru to her milk and the caffeine kept her awake. ;)
Hope this helps!
