Every few months, I get into a real Andrés Segovia mood, and just put his albums on a continuous 5-hour loop while I cartoon. But I'd never actually *seen* him play until, on a whim, I searched for him on YouTube today.
Check him out playing "Leyenda". He makes that song look easy. My God but it's amazing to see a true master at work.

He wasn't playing as well as he did in his prime. His hands were too arthritic.
Look up the Magic Flute video. His playing is worlds better.
A bit of trivia about Segovia: Charo (coochie-coochie!) was actually a student (possibly more) of Segovia and an accomplished guitarist in her own right!

I saw him play at our local concert hall, back in the '80s. The arthritis was crippling him; he could barely shuffle on and off the stage.
But he could still play. I'll never forget that night.

Even crippled up, he beats the heck out of Esteban.
