Ha! I scoff at the puny size of Texas!

In *my* State of Western Australia we could fit 3 Texas' and STILL have room for Japan and England inside the State.

Basically Western Australia is so big that if you drew a line down the east side of Utah, then everything west of that from Mexico to the Canadian border would be my State alone!

cheers
Sean

To you I use the same argument we use against Alaska-- Western Australia holds a mere 2.1 million people-types, whereas Texas is the second-most populous state in the union.

That is to say, almost the entirety of Texas east of the Pecos is settled land. WE HAVE LOTS OF SMALL FARMS AND RANCHES SO WE WIN!

I discussed this with my co-workers earlier-- Texas doesn't need to actually be the best at anything. We just declare ourselves the best at everything, and dare anyone to say otherwise. You really ought to try that state of mind-- it's quite satisfying.

In Response to Severn (#42922):

I understand that's how George Bush lives his life. He does seem to enjoy it.
