Manatee Shirts Are Go!

Over in the Sheldon Store, we're taking advance orders for the "Mind of a Ninja, Body of a Manatee" shirt!
It's the only shirt made for people who have crafted their body into a fighting machine. A fighting machine powered by delicious, delicious chocolatey snacks.
We're taking advance orders this week so that we know how many to make. So please put your order in by Friday, Sept. 12th so that we can start shipping 'em out 7-10 days afterward. Also! There is free shipping on this shirt to anywhere in the U.S! Boo-yah!

That sounds great! I'd love to buy one. Except I wear a 3X, on account of that whole 'body of a manatee' thing. I'm not trying to come off critical, but offering a shirt like that at a maximum of 2X seems kind of self-defeating, don't you think?

Unfortunately, American Apparel only offers their "BB401 Poly-Cotton Short Sleeve Crew Neck" in the largest size of 2XL.
It's a genuine, genuine bummer...for which I apologize!

Aw man, it's offers loike this that make me hate living on the wrong side of the pond ;).
Oh well, paid my shipping, least I never had to pay any additional tax on orders from the Sheldon store.

I think, more importantly, whomever is modeling that shirt very clearly does not have the body of a manatee. A ninja, perhaps, but definitely not a manatee...

I figured that was the case - a lot of artists use them. But seriously - you're a web comic artist with an unapologetically overweight character and you offer a t-shirt with the tagline 'body of a manatee'. How many more sales do you think you'd make if you offered the shirts in sizes appropriate to fans of (1) webcomics (2) webcomics with one or more characters they identify with (3) shirts that are gently self-deprecating re: the need for a large shirt size?
