POLL: Tagline Contest Finalists!

Monday, September 22, 2008 - 10:33 AM

Mere DAYS after we started our tagline contest, we're now ready to proceed to the Finalist Round. I've narrowed down our 300+ entries to 15 Finalists. But before I pick the winner and send them their Sheldon Original Art, I wanted to put it up for public comment and see which one(s) you guys were leaning towards. So cast your vote, below! And a huge thank you to all who participated. I hope you had fun coming up with taglines!

(And if you want to re-read ALL of the entries, you can go here.)

New here but I was thinking of something along the lines of "Squeee love a parade." Hey, they can't all be winners.

100% Awesome-Sauce is hands down the best. It's inside-jokey enough to satisfy the fans but not so obscure that outsiders couldn't get it. Yummm, awesome sauce

I don't remember where the original post was, so I can't look up who came up with it, but "Sheldon: Getting by on our looks since 1999" was my favorite.

Just a random comment, but this poll is following the time-honored reverse bell-curve effect.

That happens with long lists -people inevitably choose options near the top or the bottom.

(He says as if he didn't pick one of those himself...)

Really, That's depressing then. So people have a short attention span and can only pay attention long enough to see the first and last things on the list? So by that logic, if I put "Seven layers of awesome" as the last item on the list it would just up in the polls to second place?

Also how come not one of my thirty entries was good enough for you?

Maybe you should have posted first or last? I like "seven layers of awesome", but it reminds me of a burrito.

I used "awesome-sauce" in a sentance yesterday without even realizing it...

"When Life Hands You Billions, Make a Talking Duck" is perfect because it's funny and it perfectly reflects what the comic is about. Plus, 337 people agree with me...

Hmm... I like the taglines that aren't character-specific. As big a fan as I am of Arthur especially, and of Flaco, anything with the word "awesome" in it works for me.

So how about "This comic strip is a seven layers of awesome burrito with extra awesome sauce on it" ?

Initially I thought that "Seven Layers of Awesome" was best since it's very quick and easy to say. However, I'm beginning to warm up to "100% Awesome-sauce", since it's also an inside joke.

But most of the suggestions are really good, so Dave has his work cut out for him. ;-)
