Thanks for posting this, Dave. I was just talking to a coworker about Stage Three candy this morning and couldn't remember where it came from (although I had my suspicions). Now, at least, I can prove I'm not totally insane!
I know the feeling. I get the weird looks when I refer to this decade as the pre-teens (from the May 13, 2006 strip).
Of course, I get plenty of those looks without Dave's help.

i think ive explained the 3stage candy joke to about six people by now. it just makes so much sense!
I've also mentioned the Candy Stages to a couple people lately. Some people get it, some people don't. It's obvious who got to have some of my Stage One candy :D
I told my mom the stage 1-3 gag when she showed up with her personal favorite stage 3 purchase: Peeps pumpkins. And now that Peeps applies to more than just Easter, she's all over the pre- and post-holiday candy stuff looking for Peeps every holiday.
