Coming in December: "Nerds on Parade!"

Sunday, November 09, 2008 - 06:37 PM

Allow me to crank up the mega-hyperbole machine for a minute to announce THE GREATEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN. Or, if you won't allow me that, allow me to announce the next Sheldon Collection... Nerds on Parade!

This will be the fifth Sheldon collection, after "Pure Ducky Goodness;" "The Good, The Bad & The Pugly;" "62% More Awesome" and "A Blizzard of Lizards".

If you'd like to see a larger version of the front cover, click HERE. My talented buddy Katherine did the heavy-lifting on the cover, and I couldn't be happier with how it came out. I can't wait for you guys to have your copies

Look for it in the first week of December, in the Sheldon Store!

Lovin' it! I think this one ties with The Good, The Bad, & The Pugly as the Sheldon book with the neatest design theme.

Can't wait to order!

Hey, wait a second! I recognize that tag line! (But didn't it come in second?)

Can't wait for the new book. Will there be the usual Artist's Edition?

Splimky: The "7 layers of awesome" came from this July 07 strip. Its one of my favorites: http://www.sheldoncomics.com/archive/070707.html

But I think someone pitched it again in the March 08 Sheldon tagline contest: http://www.sheldoncomics.com/forums/sheldontalk/5027/

Well, I'll be darned. I had no idea that was from a strip. I should really try reading the strips sometime. There's all kinds of good stuff in there!

But if he doesn't have teeth, how is he making that goofy "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloon" smile? :)

Considering the strip: it isn't about the Black Plague, it's just a legend.

Re: Today's Strip: You'll like Sheldon's response in tomorrow's strip, then. :)

Re: The Book: To answer a few questions that have come up in e-mails and on Twitter: Yep, there will be Artist Editions! Also, the book should be available in time for Christmas shipping anywhere in the world.

Sure, duck's don't have teeth. Same as lizards don't really fly into space or become producers of CSI spin offs, or ten year old boys become multi-billionaires. Ha ha, the imagination of some of these peeps! :)

In Response to DaveKellett (#45808):

Re: Re: Today's Strip: It has had a long usage as a referance to Black Plague though, in movies and tv shows and such, that it nowadays gives me the serious creeps, especially if sung by children :)
