Honestly, most of them seem embarrassingly bad to me.

I feel the same way, except that I feel that way about all of them. "Best receptionist ever" and "unicorn" beat all of the presented ones, I think. Would definitely have voted for "best receptionist".

Let me assure you, as a guy who writes humor all that time, that no matter which ones were picked out of the 1,000+ submissions, someone else, if not you, would've been complaining about the same thing. It's the subjective nature of humor.

I'd just ask that you keep the comments polite. Remember that there are real people who submitted those punchlines, 3,000+ people who have voted thus far, and one cartoonist who think they're pretty good. So saying they're "embarrassingly bad" only serves to insult the people who found 'em funny.

I'm not trying to sound school-marmish...I just like to maintain a certain sense of kindness on the Sheldon forums. Thanks!

<serious>You're right, Dave.  I shouldn't have implied that I really thought all those captions were embarrassingly bad.  They weren't, all of them were okay, and a few of them actually made it all the way up to good.</serious>

Hey, Dave. I am one of the top 15 (GLEE!!!). Just making sure I understand - the winner will be one of the top 15, but not necessarily the top vote getter? The votes are basically feedback for you to help you make your decision?

It is definitely a tight race, I think this is too stressful for those who do have entries up, I keep checking it all the time to see the numbers, knowing that this is a guide and not the actual winner, lowers the stress, back to making some fries.
