What WAS that pointy thing on the ends of toothbrushes? Anyone know?

It's for gum massage.

And they do make musical toothbrushes... they send the sound directly through your teeth and into your skull to amp it. The music is used to time your brushing (the songs are cut to 2 minutes). I don't believe any company makes one that you can load music onto like an iPod, though (but I'm sure individuals have hacked the current models).
