Sunday's Strip

If you missed it over the weekend, have a look at Sunday's strip about the children's classic, Goodnight Moon. That book is a masterpiece of helping little ones to sleep, but there's room in there for a little good-natured ribbing. (I hope.)

Strips like that are fun to do. It's an interesting experiment to adapt your style to another artist's look and techniques. It's not unlike trying to fake a spoken accent, I suppose. The last time I tried it for Sheldon was with the George Herriman masterpiece Krazy Kat -- and that was similarly fun to do.

I read it and knew exactly at what stage your daughter was at! That book has been told and re-told at our house. I knew the daddy in you loved the book, yet the artist in you just couldn't deal with some of the content. It was very funny!

That mouse has bother me for several years now, too (my oldest is almost seven). Why didn't the old woman quit with the "hush"ing and get rid of it? What they heck kind of self-respecting cats would let a mouse flaunt his very existence in such a manner? And a bowl full of mush... seriously? What the heck is up with that?

Thanks for providing a release for the questions brought up by this classic, Dave.

Ok, I have to admit that the second I saw this I immediately thought of the final Opus panel.

Great job & thanks for the laughs!!

While it was sort of funny to read, I totally didn't understand that comic because I am Dutch, so have never had anything to do with said book. :)

I am just reading some Krazy Kat right now. I like your strip- existential... Herriman was all about the shifting backgrounds. And the pen work!!!!
