I have heard this phrase, and I always think: "Sure, NASA can send a man to the moon. Us? Kinda doubt it..."

I'd first like to point out that I've been in a lot of corporate meetings and never once heard anybody use the "We can send a man to the moon..." analogy. But I think I'll try to use it more from now on.
My favorite along those lines was a buddy of mine who fought in Desert Storm whose response to people asking for unreasonably long deadlines was "We took Kuwait in under 100 hours. How can it possibly take you three weeks to do this?"
