When I was but a wee lad (&, like most wee lads), I liked McDonald's chicken nuggets ~ back then, they were considerably spongier (&, thus, more mysterious), & my dad would always call them chicken McBeak nuggets, claiming that they just threw whole, live chickens into a big grinder in the back ~ beaks, feathers, feet, & all!

Beaks do not equal sponginess, my friend... I have my own personal theory on the matter, formerly being something of a McNugget fiend myself. Consider! Where on a chicken ARE the nuggets?

Think about that, and you should probably come to the same conclusion I did in short order. Now remember that when you next eat some. Heh.

For finger licking cuisine - try Z's in DC, Ethiopian food, no cutlery.

I've also tried seal in Iceland, deep fried scorpion in China & Fugu (Puffa fish) in Nagasaki. I wouldn't recommend the seal :(

& on the nuggets theme - sweetbreads & smoked horse meat in a French / Russian restaurant - also Nagasaki :)

Um, I don't know! I generally do not order chicken in restaurants unless it really sounds good.

I find chicken a good thing to eat at home, if prepared well, but otherwise pretty bland in taste. I mean... Everything really DOES taste like chicken, that's because chicken barely has an interesting taste of its own!

Then again, it appears everyone has different taste buds, so maybe it's more interesting for you people to eat chicken than it is for me. ;)

I believe McDonald's uses the Midwest region as a multi-ethnic test area. In one restaurant, a whole deep fried chicken head was found. Batter covered, comb, eyes, and beak - it was their finest moment. Meal title - wait for it - Chicken McNoggin

Has anybody out there tried fried alligator fritters? I had a sampling while out in the Florida Keys several years ago.
Yup ~ tastes like chicken.

Yup - I've tried alligator, also in Florida :) Didn't think it tasted like chicken though, more like pork. I've also tried crocodile. The best place for trying really (& I mean REALLY) wierd food is the Beijing street market - snake heads, goat penises, starfish ... we didn't have enough time so only got to try the scorpion :(

And to think the most exotic animal I've ever tried was an ostrich...

Ostrich in jerky form (i.e., moron ostriches) tastes like pepperoni!...although I'm sure that had much more to do with the seasonings & preparation than the ostrich...

I had Ostrich steaks. I understand seagull isn't too good, hedgehog is supposed to be quite nice - apparently you cover it in mud & bake it, and I have a cousin who assures me that rat is surprisingly tasty!

Ostrich steaks, yes, I've had those... I found them better than chicken actually - perhaps we had different qualities of steak?

Or someone lied to me, and it was just beef...
