Sheldon, the hamlet, on Sheldon, the site

Sheldonista Toby R. from the UK was driving through "sunny" Derbyshire (his words), and spotted this sign. And in the middle of a busy, busy intersection filled with thousands of cars/people (my words), he pulled over and snapped this shot to share with you all.
Thanks, Toby!

And you can talk to the lord of the manor, Lord Biggles Chiggles. Of the Chiggle family.

And upon going to Wikipedia to look up info on this town I found an article on... Sheldon Manor, which belonged to at one point... Catherine Parr! You know? Queen of England? The last of Henry VIII's wives?

But Sheldon the town in Derbyshire? Um...it's near a lead mine and has a church and recent controversy surrounding it. *lol*

Also found a list of ALL the place names in the world called Sheldon. Also on the list are people with that name...and a certain web comic.

Well, I can honestly say that when I took the picture there wasn't much happening in Sheldon! ;) Next time I get the oppourtunity I'll head back up there (I do actually live in Derbyshire) and see if I can take some pictures of, prehaps, the Sheldon Bakery or the Sheldon Post Office :D

Curses! I was planning to take a photo of that when I passed it on my way to Manchester the other day XD
Ah well, at least now the world has been informed. This country is full of really odd-named places...

I don't get it. Why would Sheldon have a sign specifically directed towards him when he's not even old enough to drive?
At least its polite.
