Thanks, Garrett!
Thanks, Garrett!
don't forget Alaska has a Sheldon! though I don't have any pictures, working for the Census Bureau this year I got to make a list of all communities and Sheldon popped up and I immediately thought of you!
I posted in the Sheldon UK thread a URL in Wikipedia that lists all the various Sheldon place names.
Here's some:
Sheldon, Illinois - Population 1,232
Sheldon, Iowa - Population 4,914 (the largest city in O'Brien county! Wooh!) 3 folks from the Olympics are from there as well as a Supreme court judge. Seems to be the place to be for controversy, a Marigold festival (which is awesome cuz the Marigold is my fave flower...gives me an excuse to visit Iowa...).

Sheldon, NY - Population 2,561 (reading the history...I realized I have ancestry from there! My great-great-great-great-great-great Grandmother died near there...)
Sheldon, North Dakota - Population 135. Controversy surrounds a well built in 1906...oooh.. :P
Sheldon, Texas - population 1,831
Sheldon, Vermont (also Sheldon Springs) - Population 1990
Sheldon, Wisconson. There's 2 of em! One in Monroe County (population 682) and one in Rusk County (population 256)
There's also a Sheldon in Queensland, Australia that was named after the Devonshire town.
