True story: my mother listed her 3 cats as feline grown adult children living at home in her 2000 Census packet. She also listed the household humans' ancestry as 'Celtic'. I waited for someone from the Census Bureau to come ask about all of it, but no one ever showed up.

Personally, I always check
Other for race and write in 'Human' :)
