Wile I'm 100% sure Flaco will be fine by the end of all this, ...I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about him right now.

Am I the only one who immediately thought "Why on earth is Arthur running along, and then he's just standing there staring after them?"
Has he forgotten he's a bird? Or is he slowly evolving into a kiwi-like flightless bird, what with just sitting around on Gramp's head all day long?

Does this call for a daring two week long commando style rescue? Yes, I believe it does!

Ooh, is this the start of another lengthy adventure, like Flaco ending up on the space shuttle, or in Hollywood? Those are TONS of fun.

Oh, and I should have added: I LOVE the perspective work you've done this week, Dave. I particularly enjoy today's last panel, and the detail of the owl's wings repeatedly going outside the frame in the last three strips.

A few weeks ago, a hawk tried to snatch up my box turtle, Noko Noko, while he was out on the lawn. This comic hits me hard.
(P.S. Noko is fine.)

That's straight mean, Dave!
And surprisingly, I didn't even think about the fact that Arthur should have flown after him. I think I've started seeing him more as a person. When I send Sheldons to non-Sheldonistas I'm always surprised when they as why the duck is talking.

I know that nothing serious will happen to Flaco, but it is a scary cliffhanger.
I have a feeling that we are in for an extended adventure as we saw when Oso wandered off. That's my hope anyway.

I foresee an owl, beaten and mostly denuded of feathers, and Flaco emerging little the worse for wear, holding an owl feather fan as a victors trophy.
After all, Flaco has already served up a dish of whuppin' on am enraged Russian brown bear of some 800 pounds or so. How tough can an owl be after that?
Flaco can wrap that tongue around the owl's legs and slam him back and forth on a tree limb like Droopy does to a dragon or a bull after he says; "You know what? That makes me mad!"

Why do I get the impression that our reactions are translated to a comic? Or is this comic so predictable?
The duck is flying, almost.... Flaco is using his tail and tongue.... All things that were here predicted.
Hmmmm... Come on everyone, let thinks of a plot twist...
Sheldon is using his company to track down the owl?

The owl is actually taking Flaco back to its secret forest government headquarters to set him up as president.
The owl was hired by Flaco's biological parents to track him down and drag him back.
The owl needs a babysitter for her owlets. Flaco falls in love with them, and when Arthur finally gets his fat feathered butt to the owl's nest, Flaco insists on bringing the owlets home with them.
The owl is actually in love with Flaco, à la the Dragon and Donkey in "Shrek."
