Yard Sale Pros

Yeah, when I was moving and held a garage sale -- these people show up at 7 AM while I'm still in me jams and thinking about breakfast. My sister says, "There's people all over the driveway!" Stupidly I opened up and didn't get a break for about 3 hours.

What unnerved me the most was people offering half or 1/4 what I listed (and thought of as a bargain price) on a vintage gumball machine, right off! No. Not gonna happen.

You could sell right off, have some money in your hand. But what's the rush?

Gramp's yard sale seems to be shaping up much like last year's.

As a person who goes to Yard sales myself, I can tell you why I go early. Because if I don't by 10AM all the good stuff will be gone. Plus we don't just go to one yard sale, we go to at least a dozen if not up to two dozen. We have to make quick decisions and every second that we spend at one, we miss out on bargains at another.

Now keep in mind, I also sell the stuff on Ebay. So it's business to me.

Plus I just think its fun to haggle.

As Wolfdreamer points out, the bargain hunters like to get an early start on their yard sale shopping. You have to be up and ready early.
Sales generally peter off in the afternoons, though, so the mornings are the busier times.
