Movin' House

Wednesday, March 14, 2012 - 11:37 AM

My apologies for the lack of a Sheldon strip on Tuesday. After weeks of planning, Tuesday was our big "moving house" day, and sure enough, I couldn't find anything. Just a short list of what I've been hunting for in cardboard boxes:

- My keyboard (40 minutes)
- Socks, this morning (20 minutes)
- A plate, any plate, that I could eat breakfast off of (I ended up using a paper towel)
- Actual breakfast (I reheated a burrito)

Moving, everyone! It's the bestest.

But anyway: Tuesday should be the only real hiccup day. It'll be smooth sailing from here on out. ....Especially once I find plates.

Dave, once you lose that nice cushiony comics buffer, it gets crazy, doesn't it? On one hand you can do timely work. On the other hand, one eye on the bristol board and one eye on the clock makes for "fun" pressure.

I'm pretty much useless if just away from my desk... much less moving house.

One day offline? I think we're all suitably impressed.

Cheers,

I must have missed a previous post about you guys moving. That is always traumatic but it is really impressive that you only missed one strip! BTW, how is your anonymous little girl taking the move?

Yes, Dave, how is the little Princess taking it all? Has she claimed her part of the house yet? And how is your lovely wife doing during the move? Changing nests is always more stressful on women than men, probably because they care more. But it is harder work on men who get to do the heavy lifting and to put things in 99 different places as the lady of the house makes up her mind (or changes it) about where she wants what. Being a retired GI, and used to moves, I always bought heavy duty paper plates for family eating. Plus we ate a lot of pizza and Chinese takeout the first week or so. ;-) But a reheat burrito for breakfast? You're braver with your colon than I am with mine!
