Well done, Dave. Well done.
Well done, Dave. Well done.
Oh dear. It's just after midnight GMT and I gotta go sleep with that cartoon in my head.
That was such a beautifully restrained and understated way to show Gramps' grief; absolutely wonderful; and so heart-breaking.
Two comments:
1. Gramps' name is Seamus?! That's the coolest name ever! Also, I really enjoy when cartoonists actually give names and backstories to their characters, like this.
2. I really like the melancholy diversion into Gramps' past. Can't wait to see the stories behind more photos.
Wow. Just.... wow.
This arc is beautifully crafted and the way you portrayed Gramps remembering the day the photo was taken.... wow.
I truly, TRULY, am choked up and could feel myself on the verge of crying. This is such a beautiful story arc and today's installment.... wow.
Am I the only one reading this as they day that Sheldon's parent's died? {sniff}
Damn you Kellett....
I must be having a severe allergy attack: both my eyes are watering and my nose is stuffed up. First time I've ever had an allergic reaction to a web comic. Is this what a computer virus is like?
Seriously, well done Dave.

Huge fan of Sheldon since the PVP guest comic with the Panda. I thought that was brilliant. I have to say I am impressed with the delivery and how this one comic touched me. Thank you for the amazing work!
I went back and read the arc from the beginning. The little 16/17 touch speaks VOLUMES about why that camera was in that box all these years.
Had to post this arc to my FB wall. Just pure win in this writing. Deserves an award in my watery eyes.
Ok, wow.
Excellent comic.
So we learn Gramps' name is Seamus? And Grandma's speech patterns seems to scream 'Irish' to me... "Oh, now lookit you lad"
Are Gramps and Gran immigrants?
I was surprised to see Gramps with his 'stache... Considering he started the strip cleaned shaven...
Dude. [crying the ugly cry]
Dude. Family portrait, background sized?
I could cut it out myself, but you will do a masterful version of it, I'm sure...
This is the most awesome storyline you've had in a long time.
Like at least one other person, I've been reading for a few years without comment but you made me cry this morning, Dave. Good job. :)
Thank you Mr Kellett.
Reckon you'll know why.
Amazing. Thank you for such a heartfelt moment. Wow.
I was going to make something out of that: Perhaps Gramp shaved off the stache after the car accident that's about to happen...
But it's been on and off:

He even had a beard at one stage:

Well done, Dave.
I recently lost my father and had been scanning my computer for pictures of him. I still have a half dozen rolls of old 35mm around, I suppose I'll have to round them up and get them developed now, to see what I may be missing.
... and the colour drains from his world with a click.
Dave, this is a work of art. Bravo. Curses for making this grown man cry at his desk.
And I gather that his name is "James", but Seamus is his beloved wife's nickname for him?
*sniffle*
I'm not at all surprised the strip is already purchased. I'd want this on my wall, too.
Bah, now I need to go find a tissue; my eyes are leaking.
Dangit.
