As you probably noticed during the “Night Without Coffee” storyline, I’ve started playing around with a taller, vertically oriented format for the strip.

I’ll be honest: I’m really enjoying it. Who’s to say whether I’ll be using it permanently, going forward, but for now I’m enjoying the change of pace. It allows for a little more stretch in the writing, and a bit more room to play with the art.

With today’s strip, we start back in on our daily Sheldon installment. So here’s to another year! Happy 2012, my friends!

The first Drive Podcast is up, answering your questions about the strip!

The fun thing about world-building a scifi strip like DRIVE is that it raises a lot of interesting questions from readers.

So over the Christmas break, I’m going to do a podcast answering any of your questions about DRIVE (…on the strip, the cast, that universe…anything along those lines). Friday’s strip. Dangerous, oversimplified stereotype? Yes.

Nonetheless true? Yes.

This past weekend, my talented wife had her short film showing at the Napa Film Festival….so we of course went up north for it.

Napa, as you know, is sort’ve the beating heart of the California wine industry. And make no mistake: The wines there are magnificent. But if you read enough marketing language written on, about, and around wine…you kinda step into this alternate universe where everyone owns an Aston Martin and is trying to decide on what Christmas gifts to buy for the staff of their summer home. It’s so awkward: We don’t even *see* them around Christmas, why are we buying them Christmas gifts?

That sort’ve thing.

Looks like *someone’s* comin’ out of retirement…
