Sheldon original art

Nowhere to go

Sheldon cartoons are hung in LA galleries, in the main lobby of Google, and in hundreds of homes around the world. And here's your chance to get an original Sheldon of your very own!

Each cartoon is a hand-drawn, hand-lettered, one-of-a-kind creation; drawn on acid-free Bristol Vellum cardstock using archival Faber-Castell and Micron pens. The originals are black-and-white, and commonly measure either 4 1/4" x 13 3/4" (for the horizontal strips), or 10"x13 3/4" (for the larger, double-tall strips). They frame up beautifully, and make any owner 26% better looking.

Note: Reproduction rights are not included in the sale of original Sheldon art. Only the cool awesomeness of owning your own original is for sale. And trust us: that's a lot of cool awesomeness.

This single panel comic shows GRAMP, an older bald man with a grey mustache, holds SHELDON’s hand - a ten-year-old with large glasses. They walk away from the viewer into a beautiful sunset sky. In lighter line and faded color, and older woman hold GRAMP’s hand, looking over at both of them with a sweet smile. Holding SHELDON’s hand in lighter line and faded color is a young man in glasses, looking at SHELDON, mouth open as if he’s excitedly encouraging his son.

HEADLINE: Grief is just Love that has Nowhere to go

POEM:
Grif is just love that has nowhere to go.
Where the love is still present…but with none to to bestow.

See, our short lives are troubled, and days can be hard,
but there’s hands who will guide you, and love you, and guard.
And your road is made softer, by their presence, there.
And all loads made lighter, in moments of care.
But when we must part — and we have, do and will —
the love doesn’t cease, it continues on, still.

And when love turns to grief, as the focal point’s gone,
what once was a chorus, a solo-sung song.
But int ime, all that love finds a new hand to hold.
And pays forward the kindness that made it grow bold.

So, while grief is just love that has nowhere to go…
it’s the nature of love to find NEW ways to grow.

TEXT AT BOTTOM: All praise and attribution to Jamie Anderson, whose insight on grief inspired this lil’ poem.
