OhMyGoodness,OhMyGoodness

Sheldonista Michelle sent in the most amazingly cute photo from Halloween, and I had to share it with you. As she says

“Our son Corwin [went] as a duck for his first Halloween. Unlike Arthur, he can’t talk yet, but if he could, he would say, “awesome sauce”.

Seriously, I look at that photo and I just keep going “ohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodness”.

Oso’s Rejected Spider Costume

Playing off of Oso’s rejected Halloween costume in this strip, Sheldonista Judy K. writes in to say: “So, what’s wrong with the spider costume? I present Exhibit A…two cute spider pugs. We were on our way to the Seattle Pug-O-Ween and had a very fun day watching pugs in all sorts of great costumes.”

This pic is awesome, Judy, thank you! I particularly love how one of ’em is nonsensically wearing camouflage as well!

What’s Jabba Saying?

If you’re wondering what menacing thing Jabba is saying in Sunday’s strip, here’s the actual Huttese translation:

“Another hot towel, please! They seemed nice to me. And may I have a receipt? Incredible!”

…What a surprisingly friendly guy!

Drive Archives

Quick reminder: Here’s the link to past strips of “Drive”. These’ll have to do until we get a new site up ‘n runnin’ in the new year.

Pumpkin Arthur!

Catching up on Halloween photos that folks having been sending in…let’s start off with this one from Sheldonista Melissa A.

She surprised me with some particularly cool Halloween awesomeness: She carved a pumpkin Arthur! Check it out:

Nice work, Melissa — and thanks for the pics!

My Goodness, How I Love L’Academie Francaise

Do you guys remember this Sheldon strip about the guardians of the French lang-a-wage, “L’Academie Française”? It’s one of my favorites.

A.) Because I think the academy is a ridiculous national conceit, and B.) Because I’m particularly proud of the “bakery-fresh baguette” non-sequitor in that strip.

ANYWAY, keen-eyed Sheldonista Lauren T. sent me this WSJ article about the academy, and I had to shre it with you. For all the problems that the English Language has, it makes me incredibly happy that this is not one of them. If “kindergarten” or “sushi” is the best word for the job, I’m so thankful that the English language just collectively goes, “Yeah, sure, great, let’s just use that.”

…and then English goes back to playing Xbox and eating nachos.

Sheldon Christmas Cards!

Normally, I send out my Christmas cards around Dec. 28th, with a note inside saying “Whoops!” But I’m told there are folks who send them early/on-time….so I should mention this now: SHELDON CHRISTMAS CARDS!

The (4.25″ x 6″, folded) card features a gaggle of Christmas Arthurs on the cover, and the text inside says “Duck the Halls!”…leaving you plenty of room to write “Whoops,” if, like me, you’re planning on sending them out on Dec. 28th.

Happy Halloween!

With deference for showing the final Halloween costumes for the year, we’ll skip our installment of “Drive” this week, and pick it up again next Saturday.

In the meantime, may your chocolate gorgings go well today: Happy Halloween, everyone!
