It’s mah birfday!

Guys, I’m gettin’ old. It’s official. Friday’s my birthday. Ain’t a youngin’ no mores. I realized over Christmas that my metabolism has slowed down big time in the last two years….so in a very cliched fashion I’m back in the gym. Feels good, though. A week in and I’m already feelin’ better. So maybe the birthday is a good reminder to take better care of myself.

Anyway, in lieu of birthday gifts, maybe treat yourself to a Sheldon book. Not only do you get a great book…it’s also a nice way of helping an artist make a living doin’ what they’re doin’….and hot diggety that’s the nicest birthday gift of all.

…Something curious floating through space.

Be it a fish-stick, perhaps? Be it a *salted* fish-stick?

Enquiring minds want to know.

The Taller Format

As you probably noticed during the “Night Without Coffee” storyline, I’ve started playing around with a taller, vertically oriented format for the strip.

I’ll be honest: I’m really enjoying it. Who’s to say whether I’ll be using it permanently, going forward, but for now I’m enjoying the change of pace. It allows for a little more stretch in the writing, and a bit more room to play with the art.

Podcast on “DRIVE”

The fun thing about world-building a scifi strip like DRIVE is that it raises a lot of interesting questions from readers.

So over the Christmas break, I’m going to do a podcast answering any of your questions about DRIVE (…on the strip, the cast, that universe…anything along those lines). I thought it might be more fun to *hear* folks’ questions than to just have me read them out. So! Here’s the voicemail number to leave your question: (310) 909-7057. Just leave your name and a short, punchy VM I can use on the podcast.

Questions for the DRIVE podcast!

Over the Christmas break, I’m going to do the long-promised podcast answering any of your questions about DRIVE (..the strip, the cast, that universe…anything along those lines). Aaaaand, even cooler, I want to incorporate your questions as spoken by you.

Here’s a Google voicemail number where you can leave your question: (310) 909-7057 (country code is USA: 1, if you need it). And don’t worry: No one will “pick up” when you call…it’s just a voicemail box.

When you call, just leave your name, maybe where you’re from…and a short, punchy question that can be used on the podcast. Thanks! This’ll be fun.

(Worst case, I already have a host of great questions from you guys, here, but it’d be so much more fun to hear your voice. Call in!)

EDITED TO ADD: THE FIRST PODCAST IS UP:

The firstDrive Podcast is up, answering your questions about the strip!

Friday’s Strip

Friday’s strip. Dangerous, oversimplified stereotype? Yes.

Nonetheless true? Yes.
