COMIC TITLE: “The Hodgepodge Dog Lodge”
Logline: With no humans around, these dogs have to learn a new trick: RUNNING A KENNEL.

PANEL 1: OSO, the fawn pug, stands in the door way talking to DIGBY, the brown dachshund.
OSO: The human said they were gone for six minutes.
DIGBY: Six minutes? or SIX YEARS??

PANEL 2: They continue talking, a little shaken.
OSO: How do you now the diffference?
DIGBY: EXACTLY. I don’t even remember when they left. I just remember the utter ABANDONMENT.

PANEL 3: Close up on OSO.
OSO: I know only two times: the snugs… and the WAITING for snugs.

PANEL 4: Back to both of them, both looking horrified.
OSO: I’ll be honest: every time they walk out the door, I just assume THAT’S IT. We had a good run.
DIGBY: It ages me, emotionally. It’s why I bark.

COMIC TITLE: “The Hodgepodge Dog Lodge”
Logline: With no humans around, these dogs have to learn a new trick: RUNNING A KENNEL.

PANEL 1: A man with curly blonde hair walks through a door. The pomeranian, great dane, pug and dachshund greet him with large excited eyes.
MAN: Hi pups! I’m back! Sorry I had to step out!
Dogs; bark bark bark!

PANEL 2: The man bends down to pet the fluffy chow-chow. The black scruffy dog with a pink bow in his hair looks on happily.
MAN: ha ha ha did you miss me? 
Dogs: bar bark bark!

PANEL 3: Close up on the man, who looks horrified.
MAN: But…I… I was only gone…

PANEL 4: Over the man’s shoulder we see the room - it’s a mess. Overturned trash can, box of dog food on it’s side, with a rug under it that’s crumpled up. A table is overturned. There are paw prints and other marks on the walls and floor. There’s a puddle on the floor. The pug, dachshund, great dane, and pomeranian stand amongst the mess, excited.
MAN: for six minutes.

PANCAKES: “This is me telling YOU not to bark, but then BARKING LOUDLY into my glowing rectangle for an hour”
DIGBY: Ha ha ha

PANEL 3: DIGBY stands shocked, as PANCAKES continues.
PANCAKES: “And this me telling you to sit! SIT!”

PANEL 4: DIGBY, sitting, responds. While PANCAKES realizes something.
DIGBY: I…I sit without thinking.
PANCAKES: …THE POWER.

MR BOOPERS: With my human gone, who can take me for walks, now? Who can scratch behind my ears??

PANEL 2: MR BOOPERS continues to talk to GUMDROP, who listens quietly.
MR BOOPERS: Who can “accidentally” drop bits of ham on the floor for me, 5-10 times in a row? Who can tell me that i’m doing a big stretch, when i’m doing a big stretch?

PANEL 4: MR BOOPERS, eyes dilated, continues in horror. GUMDROP cringes next to him.

HOTPOCKET: I miss my person! I feel so alone!
OSO: Me too! I’ve been staring out the window all day, counting how many cars that WEREN’T them!

PANEL 2: HOTPOCKET continues to bounce, and OSO has his paws on the window. Outside we see two lines of cars.
HOTPOCKET: I just wish they were here! SO we could be alone together!
OSO: (…but I only know two numbers.)

PANEL 3:  HOTPOCKET continues to bounce, OSO turns, but keeps his paws on the window.
HOTPOCKET: I checked every room. Just in case they were hiding.
OSO: (…so it’s been “TWO” two cars.)

PANCAKES: Come quick, every buddy! Our food bowls are BROKEN!
DIGBY: Broken?

PANEL 2: PANCAKES looks down at a metal dog bowl. MR. BOOPERS, a brown fluffy chow-chow, stands next to him also looking at the bowl.
PANCAKES: There were crunchies in them, but now there are NO curnchies.
MR BOOPERS: But we ate those old crunchies! That’s how we get the new crunchies to appear!

PANEL 3: MR BOOPERS looks up, eyes wide, in horror. DIGBY sniffs the bowl, while PANCAKES stands over him. They all look scared.
MR BOOPERS: We…we did our part! We ate the crunchies!
DIGBY I will keep staring at the bowl, in case crunchies appear.
PANCAKES: I feel like I don’t understand the CAUSALITY of crunchy appearances.
