Someone asked me, the other day, how the Fillipods “advanced,” as a culture, without opposable digits. This will be on the eventual encyclopedia entry, but what the heck: Let’s talk about it, now. It’s a fun question!
A Fillipod can grip in one of two ways:
1.) They’re walking stalks can be brought together to form a basic “grip,” or, more commonly…
2.) Each individual stalk employs van der Waals forces four to five times more effectively than, say, a gecko’s feet could, to “grab” everyday objects.

You may have noticed that DRIVE didn’t update last week: And I wanted to apologize for not posting a heads-up about it. It wasn’t a server hiccup or anything: I just didn’t want to rush out an update that wasn’t ready.
To me, it’s important that the story be advanced in just the right way, and that each installment has a little something special in the art department. DRIVE is a gift I’m giving myself, you see, and I want to do it right.
